Farms for City Children

Sam has been working for Farms for City Children for 4 years where they offer urban children from all over the country a unique opportunity to live and work together for a week at a time on a real farm in the heart of the countryside.

It is an intense, ‘learning through doing’ experience of a different life – for children who may not know where their food comes from and have limited opportunities to explore the outside world.

Sarah has been supporting Hospiscare since 2017 and has been to see first-hand the amazing work they do to offer specialist nursing, medical treatment and care of complex needs to those in Exeter, and the surrounding area, who have a terminal diagnosis.

They have a fantastic team of 160 staff and over 1,000 volunteers that provide free care to patients and their families both in their own homes but also at the hospice. At a cost of £6.4m per year and only £1.25m funded by the government, their team have a huge challenge of their own to raise funds each year.
